Situated in attractive, Oxfordshire countryside, Standlake has a charming rural feel, with a wonderful sense of community supporting a village pub – The Black Horse – a Church of England Primary School, Post Office and Stores and numerous other small businesses.
There is a recreation ground on Rack End which is the home of the Lower Windrush Tennis Club, with three hard courts, Village Hall and children’s playground.
For those who are keen on sport, there are facilities including numerous lakes, many of which are well stocked with fish and popular amongst anglers; with others being used for aquatic sports such as windsurfing. Oxford Downs Cricket Club have a ground in Standlake and are members of the Cherwell Cricket League.
If that wasn’t enough, there are a number of societies, clubs and organisations based in the village which include a Youth Club and a Garden Club to name just two.
Witney and Oxford are only a short drive away and the village is well positioned for the M40 and A34 providing easy access to London and Birmingham. For those needing the train, Oxford and Didcot Parkway have mainline rail services to London.
The area has an excellent choice of both state and private schools in Oxford, Witney and Abingdon with a number having school buses going through the village.
